Role Summary

This role of the Developer is to carry out design and development of a new RIA based web application. The developer should be proficient in development using Adobe Flex technologies and standard development practices. You should have participated in the development of large web applications.  Additionally as a talented developer with a successful track record, you should be able to collaborate with multi-functional, international teams to deliver the required software artifacts. Experience in working in an Agile Project environment will be an added advantage. 

Key Responsibilities

• Understand business objectives/requirements and Technology architecture to design and develop new web applications. 

• Carry out detailed design by applying coding best practices and patterns.

• Code and unit test the new application components based on the stated requirements and design.

• Be able to produce high quality code that adheres to organisational coding standards and meets the functional performance benchmarks set for the application.

• Participate in review sessions with architects to ensure that the design and code developed meet the required standards.

• Proven track record leveraging both Waterfall and Agile development methodologies.

Skills and Experience Required

• University Degree in Computer Science or Engineering. 

• Four to six years experience in software development in distributed applications using structured Java. 

• Possess strong experience in object-oriented design and implementation. 

• Significant hands on experience in Adobe technologies such as Flex/BlazeDS/LCDS including working with external design agencies to create user experiences.

• Understanding of continuous integration and automated build management (tools such as Ant/Maven, Hudson, etc.)

• Knowledge of J2EE frameworks like Spring, EJB 3.0, Hibernate.

• Possesses some relational database knowledge, and ability to write database queries independently.

• Understands SOAP/WebServices/XML technologies enabling seamless connectivity to middleware and back office services.
